Bangkok Eats

Rasayana Raw Vegan Cafe

If you are on a raw vegan diet, detoxing and cleansing or you would like to try how good raw vegan food can taste like then this is definitely a place that can't be missed! Rasayana happens to be the only Raw Vegan Cafe in Bangkok.

Rasayana Cafe offers only RAW vegan food. They do not serve any meat, wheat, dairy, processed or pasteurized foods. They use organic whenever is possible and only use cold pressed oils. They also use only the highest quality spices and seasonings. All their juices are made using a slow juice processor that slowly extracts juice without oxygenation. They even grow their own sprouts and wheatgrass to ensure quality freshness.

The menu is spectacular with many delicious options to choose from. We were very impressed by how tasty the sauces were and how light and good we felt after eating so much food!

Here is what we ordered:

We started with a shot of wheatgrass.

We then had Barley Sushi and the most delicious Nachos ever!

The Barley sushi was made of sprouted Barley and young coconut meat (rice substitute) with vegetables, avocado, wrapped in nori, served with Rasayana's signature live sour cream and was accompanied with a lovely side salad and a mustard dressing. This is my winner sushi!

The Nachos were live flaxseed crackers with this delicious and most devouring zesty salad and creamy guacamole, it was unreal how good this was!

For main course we had Pesto Pasta and Mushroom Marinara Pizza.

The Pesto Pasta was made of marinated zucchini noodles topped with homemade pesto sauce made from fresh basil, parsley and pumpkin seeds.

The Mushroom Marinara Pizza was made of live flaxseed and sunflower crust that was topped with marinated mushrooms, marinara sauce and vegetables. words can't do justice to describe how tasty this pizza was! We had to come back again another day to have it again!

Finally for dessert we had a salted caramel slice which they served with a complimentary ginger tea. It was the perfect end to a perfect meal :)

I would highly recommend anyone who is interested in having a healthy raw vegan meal to give this place a visit. It is actually a spa retreat that offers cleansing and detox programs as well, I haven't tried it so i can not recommend it but maybe next time!

P.S it is a bit hard to find this place as it is a bit hidden, so just let the taxi driver drop you to the address then figure the way out with your GPS.

May Veggie Home

This has to be the best restaurant for any vegan/vegetarian in Bangkok! I could imagine if i lived there being a regular customer. Not only is their food clean, fresh, natural and free from MSG but its also free from dairy, eggs, artificial sugars, and meats. The most amazing feature about this place is that they mimic "meats"in such a healthy and interesting way that could make you question yourself if what you are eating is really meat or not!

My husband who happens to love meat loved this place so much and kept on saying that this is one of the best meals he's ever had!
We ordered many things to try and we absolutely loved each and every single one of them. We then ended up sharing a date and oat cake which was so good that we had to takeaway another piece and a carrot cake as well which we devoured later on that night!

The pictures unfortunately do not do justice at all but i will post them anyway :)

Na Aroon Vegetarian Restaurant

There is nothing better than having clean vegetarian food in Thailand! I always liked Thai food but i started to absolutely love it once i started my healthy journey. Check out my Vegetable Thai Curry in the Lunches/Dinner section if you haven't already to get the recipe for a healthy green curry :)

Na Aroon specializes in Thai cuisine and serves mostly vegetarian food with some seafood. They use only organic produce and do not use any MSG, food colouring or preservatives.

This is the perfect spot to have a lunch break if you have a few hours to spare while waiting at the Bumrungrad Hospital as it is just around the corner of the hospital. It is located in a boutique resort and has a very relaxing and calm vibe to it.

We ordered the Green Curry and the Mussaman Curry with rice. We enjoyed both but preferred the Mussaman curry as it was just perfect and definitely satisfied our taste buds.

The best part about Thailand is their fruit abundance! All their fruits are so fresh, sweet and delicious. We loved snacking on healthy and yummy fruits throughout the day. My favourites were the Mangosteens, Grapefruits and of course Mango :) We made sure we had their sweet and fresh coconut water daily to keep us hydrated from all the walking there.

What is your favourite healthy spots in Bangkok? :)
